Teleconferencing Services Task PhD fellow will learn the papyrus texts from the perspective of linguistics, so it can identify and explore the depths of linguistic change in the Greek language (preferably in the field of Greek syntax semantics, and stylistics), which may be further illuminated in the light of the papyrus text. http://www.callforpapersinfo.com

Postdoctoral Positions in Integrative Neuroscience 2011 at NUIG


Scholarships Tuition The successful candidate will work on a work program that will employ, integrated, multidisciplinary, whole-system approach to explain the interaction of neural neurobiology of anxiety-pain, with special emphasis on the role of the endogenous cannabinoid system. Neurobiological mechanisms underlying fear-induced analgesia and hyperalgesia related concerns will be investigated.

This post is funded by Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) Principal Investigator Program grant of ~ € 1 million to Dr. David P. Finn, Pharmacology and Therapeutics, Faculty of Medicine, NUI Galway (for more information and the latest publications see http:// www.nuigalway.ie / pharmacology / Dr_David_Finn.html). The Scholarships Tuition work will involve collaboration with Physiology, Faculty of Medicine and the National Center for Biomedical Engineering Science at NUI Galway, University of Nottingham and University College London. Successful candidates will join a vibrant group of researchers at NUI Galway's Neuroscience Cluster (http://ncbes.nuigalway.ie/neuroscience.aspx) and the Center for Pain Research (http://www.nuigalway.ie/centre_pain_research/).

Essential Qualifications:

Desired Qualifications: The Scholarships Tuition ideal candidate will have significant experience in one or more of the following: Behavioral neuroscience / neuropharmacology, pre-clinical pain, stress and / or models of anxiety research; stereotaxic surgery, intracerebral and intrathecal injection; immunohistochemical, neurochemical; in. vivo microdialysis coupled to HPLC, mass spectrometry for quantitation of small molecules, Western immunoblotting, RT-qPCR. Peer-reviewed publications in areas relevant to the project are also desirable.
